What we received

In April 2026 Alchemy opened a $20M Solana Fund: infrastructure credits for teams building on Solana, in tiers from a trial up to $25,000. Taifoon received the top tier, $25,000 in Alchemy credits for Solana RPC.

Why Solana is the expensive leg of the root

Solana is one of the 61 chains folded into the Taifoon superroot, and it is the busiest one to read. A new slot arrives roughly every 400 milliseconds, more than 200,000 a day, and every one that produced a block has to be read, bundled into its own append-only tree and committed before the next fold, every ten seconds.

The reads are specific:

• getSlot at finalized commitment, to follow the tip only as far as it can no longer change
• getBlock without transaction details, for the blockhash, parent slot and block time that make up the header
• getBlockCommitment, for the evidence behind Solana's finality type in the proof: type 14, tower consensus
• getTransaction, for proofs of individual transactions

What the credits are for

Two things.

Keeping Solana under the root. Every Solana block in the root can be proven from the terminal or from a contract: taifoon.io/v1/proof/verifiable/200 returns the newest provable slot with its finality commitment. That only holds if the reads keep up with a chain that never pauses.

Proofs of single Solana transactions. Today the coordination API proves Solana blocks, and proves individual transactions only on EVM chains. Transaction-level proofs for Solana are the next step, and they are the most read-intensive thing we can ask of an RPC provider. They are also what trading agents need: the Jupiter CLI commands prove a slot today, and a single swap next.

Why it matters to you

Nothing about checking a proof depends on which provider we read through. The root is recomputable from public chain data by anyone, with any RPC. Credits make our reading cheaper and faster; they never become part of what you have to trust.
